Head’s welcome
I would like to bring you up to date with our exciting plans for a new fitness suite in the Roger Peel Sports Centre at the Senior School.
We have made do with our old gym for a while, but the equipment has now reached the end of its life and the room is too small to meet the demand for top-class fitness facilities. We now aspire to fashion the kind of fitness suite that our pupils deserve, and also our staff, parents and local community, all of whom will be able to use it at set times.
The new facility will be called “The Ian Knapp Fitness Suite”, after Ian Knapp (OK 1965). Ian was passionate about his sporting endeavours when a schoolboy in the 1960s and he now wants to support the same ambitions among today’s pupils.
Other major donors include Jonathan Gray (OK 1989) and Roger Peel (Headmaster 1987-2002). In addition, the KSPA have paid for a spectacular glass wall on the first floor of the new suite, which will bear the names of donors, lit up in purple.
We are now reaching out to the whole school community to ask for its help with this important and exciting project.
I hope that you will be inspired to offer your support and join the purple list of donors.
Will Chuter
Headmaster
“Our pupils, staff, parents and local community will all be able to benefit from this exciting new facility.”
