The Army section at Kimbolton is a large and welcoming section which takes pride in high standards mirroring the Army’s motto of ‘Be The Best’.
Pupils start at 4th Form and can stay all the way up to the Upper Sixth Form gaining four years of cadet experience in the Army.
In the first two years, pupils experience the full progressive training syllabus which includes, among others:
- Drill and turnout
- Weapon training
- Leadership
- Fieldcraft
- First aid
- Self-reliance

Unique trips and opportunities
Further opportunities for Adventurous Training range from canoeing, cycling, archery, to rock climbing. Cadets regularly get the chance to shoot on the school range.
Competition team selection from across the section for CADSAAM (Cadet Skill At Arms Meeting) and Combat Cadet.
Leadership skills development
Senior pupils take leadership further with planning and delivering training to the younger years.
In Sixth Form, pupils gain great skills in teaching, planning, organisation and delivering training supported by CCF staff.
CFIT training (Cadet Force Instructional Techniques) which provide senior cadets with the skills and confidence to deliver certain aspects of the syllabus.
JCIC (Junior Cadet Instructor Cadre) and SCIC (Senior Cadet Instructor’s Cadre) which is designed to provide cadets with advanced leadership teaching and instructional skills.
International Army Cadet Exchange – previous pupils have travelled to the Yukon, Canada to join up with other international representatives.
