Girls and boys aged 13+
Our main entry points for Senior School are in Year 7 (aged 11) and Year 9 (aged 13).
We also accept applications to join Years 8, 10 and 12 if spaces are available.
Places do occasionally come available in the current academic year, please email admissions to enquire.

Apply for a place
To be considered for entry, please complete our registration form.
A non-refundable registration fee of £120 applies to all applications.


Bursaries
We offer assistance with fees (in the form of bursaries) from age 11 for a select few candidates. We will only consider applications from parents/guardians who have already registered for entry and paid the registration fee.
Bursary application deadlines:
- First to Fifth Forms (Years 7 to 11) entry in September – 15 November of the previous year
- Lower Sixth (Year 12) entry in September – 30 November of the previous year
Scholarships
We offer a range of scholarships recognising exceptional talent in academics, sport, music, drama and art. These awards celebrate potential as well as achievement, providing tailored support, enrichment opportunities and high-level mentoring to help pupils develop their skills. Scholarships are honorary in nature as our aim is to nurture ambition, reward dedication and ensure that gifted pupils can thrive within Kimbolton’s vibrant and supportive community.
Our Scholarship deadline is the same day as our main entrance exam deadline – usually the end of November.
Assessments
13+ entry (Third Form – Year 9)
Candidates are invited for an interview and to our entrance examination. The examination comprises papers in Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning.

Offer and accepting your place
Offers for successful candidates are sent out by shortly after you have sat an assessment. The deadline for accepting a place is normally two weeks after you have received your offer.
A deposit is payable when you accept the place.
A warm welcome
Before you are due to start at our school, you will receive a joining pack of information from our Marketing & Admissions Manager.
This will include information on our uniform, bus service and optional music lessons, as well as forms to complete before the start of term.
