Course code: AQA Music (7272)

Preferred Music entry requirements: Grade 6 or higher in GCSE Music is preferable, with a minimum Grade 6 standard on an instrument or voice. A willingness to actively engage in musical activities is essential.

Assessment

  • Component 2: Composing – creation of original compositions, including one based on a set brief and one free composition.
  • Component 3: Appraising – a written exam testing knowledge of musical elements, analysis, and critical evaluation of prescribed works across genres.
