Opportunities to explore

Discover opportunities to explore positive, challenging and enjoyable activities, with our popular Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) programme.

Reflecting our adventurous spirit, Kimbolton School is a Directly Licensed Centre (DLC) for the DofE Awards.

In Senior School, we offer the Bronze and Silver Awards and many of our co-curricular programme activities and focus on service fit well with the DofE Award sections:

  1. Volunteering – giving help in your local community.
  2. Skills – covering nearly every hobby, skill or interest.
  3. Expedition – training for and completing a journey on foot or horseback, by boat or cycle.
  4. Physical – sport, dance or fitness
.
  5. Gold Award Residential – five or more days and four nights on a purposeful project with new companions.

“DofE is about going the extra mile – gaining new skills, pushing yourself physically, helping others and exploring new activities. At the same time, you’ll gather friendships, experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.”  Mr Tony Lucas, DofE Manager
