A new chapter begins at Kimbolton School this January – and your child could be part of it.
Opening in January 2026, Kimbolton Pre-School will welcome children who are aged 3 and above into a warm, nurturing environment where they can learn, play and thrive. With small group sizes, year-round care and the support of experienced staff, our youngest pupils will take their first steps into education with confidence, curiosity and joy.

Visit us
Nothing beats visiting us in person. Our open events are a great way to explore our facilities and to meet key members of the Kimbolton team.

Apply for a place
To be considered for entry, please complete our registration form.
A non-refundable registration fee of £120 applies to all applications.
Assessments
For our first term (January 2026 to September 2026) there are no assessments to enter our Pre-School.
Following this term, entry to Kimbolton Pre-School will not be based on formal academic assessment. However, we will invite all prospective children to attend a short visit session so we can get to know them in a relaxed, play-based environment. This helps us understand each child’s stage of development and ensure they will thrive in our setting. We look for signs of readiness such as curiosity, basic independence (including being toilet trained), and an interest in interacting with others. This informal visit also gives your child a gentle introduction to our team and routines, helping to make their start happy and confident.
Offer and accepting your place
Offers for successful candidates are sent out on a rolling basis for our pre-school until all places are filled. The deadline for accepting a place will be in your offer letter.
A deposit is payable when you accept the place.
A warm welcome
Following the acceptance of a place, you will receive a joining pack of information from our Marketing & Admissions Manager.
This will include information on our uniform, bus service, as well as forms to complete before the start of term.
You may also like to explore our current families area, which has useful day-to-day information about school life including Kim Club (our before and after school club), sports fixtures, co-curricular activities, the Kimbolton School Parents’ Association and much more.
