Governors are either nominated to join the Board through an external nominating body or are co-opted by the other Governors.

Chairman

Jonathan Gray, an Old Kimboltonian, has been a dedicated Governor at Kimbolton School since December 2006, currently serving as Chairman. He is committed to guiding the school’s strategic direction and fostering its commitment to educational excellence.

Beyond his contributions to the school, Jonathan has spent his career in the London insurance market, holding several leadership and Executive positions. He is currently the Chief Underwriting Officer of Pool Re, the UK’s HM Government-backed terrorism reinsurer.

He has also served as Huntingdonshire District Councillor for the Kimbolton area since 2004. In this role, he has held various senior positions on the Council, demonstrating his dedication to public service and community development.
Jonathan’s roles in finance, education and local government reflect his commitment to bringing the strengths of each sector to the benefit of all. His leadership continues to positively impact Kimbolton School and the broader community.

Simon Page Vice Chairman

Simon Page

Vice Chairman

Simon has had continuous involvement with Kimbolton School since 1975 as a pupil, Old Kimboltonian Committee Member and as a Governor.

He notes: “As a Direct Grant entrant to the School, I have always felt grateful for the confidence Kimbolton School gave me to pursue happiness and some success in my careers, as an Army Officer, in corporate life and as a small business owner.”

Sarah Brereton

Sarah Brereton

Founder of Limewash and an Old Kimboltonian, Sarah Brerton combines her expertise in marketing and communications with her passion for education.

As a Governor at Kimbolton School, she draws on her experience leading a successful agency to provide strategic insight and drive innovation.

Sarah’s career is rooted in storytelling, brand development, and supporting businesses to thrive. Her commitment to giving back is reflected in her contributions to the school and wider community, championing leadership, strategy, and effective communication.

Marcia Buxton

Marcia Buxton

Having served as Vice Chair for an NGO (One World Action), and a leadership coach and mentor for women entrepreneurs overseas with the Cherie Blair Foundation, Marcia continues to serve on different boards advocating women’s economic empowerment, social mobility, promoting the power of courageous conversations in leaders, corporate social responsibility, and making a difference.

Marcia is a well-respected speaker on gender equality, anti-racism, talent and leadership development, mental health, and education. She is an Associate Coach and facilitator at providing 1:1 executive coaching, women in leadership coaching and the design and delivering diversity and inclusive leadership programmes. Marcia is als co-chair on the Board of a charity campaigning to end violence against women (nia), serves as a development campaign board member and School Governor of a top London Independent School advising on equality, diversity and inclusion.

Chris Dodd

Chris Dodd

Chris Dodd is a practising Solicitor and Partner of a law firm, based in Cambridgeshire. He specialises in real estate to include land management and development.

Chris’ management and governance skills extend to project and people leadership at both team and board level, including 15 years as a board member and trustee of a local Air Ambulance charity and a previous Primary School Governor.

He has three children, all of whom are pupils at Kimbolton School.

Peter Farrar

Peter Farrar

Peter has a professional background in education, having experience of both the maintained and independent sector, culminating in being Head of an HMC 3-18 co-educational day/boarding school for 10 years.

Following his Headship, Peter became an educational adviser and consultant, and he has experience as an ISI Inspector.

Tracey Reid

Tracey Reid

Tracey’s daughter attended Kimbolton Senior School. She has been involved in primary education for +30 years, undertaking a number of roles, including headship across a range of schools. After studying for a degree in Education at Nottingham Trent University, Tracey began her teaching career in Birmingham, before moving to Cambridgeshire.

Tracey has taught across a range of primary schools, where she developed a passion for, and expertise in Early Years Education. During her career, she has worked as a Senior Teacher, Deputy Head and Headteacher. After leaving full time teaching in 2017, Tracey completed a Master of Education Degree at the University of Cambridge, reflecting on current educational practice and conducting research. She retired from teaching in 2023. Her vast experience is invaluable in supporting her role as Governor and, in particular, as Designated Safeguarding Governor.

Dr Richard Smith

Dr Richard Smith

Dr Smith has two children who attended Kimbolton School. In his career in the energy industry, Richard worked in both the private and public sector in Executive and Board leadership roles. His skills, particularly in people leadership, risk management and good governance add value to Kimbolton School through his service on the Board.

He is also a Former Governor of a local Primary School (inc. as Chair) and Former local Parish Councillor (inc. as Chair).

George Yeandle

George Yeandle

George Yeandle serves as a valued Governor at Kimbolton School, contributing his extensive experience in leadership and strategic planning and a passion for education. George has a background in professional services having previously served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Liontrust Asset Management Plc from 2015 to 2024 and prior to that, he held the position of Senior Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (United Kingdom) from 1989 to 2013.

George brings a wealth of insight to his role, supporting the school’s vision and long-term development along with a commitment to fostering excellence and community, George plays an active part in ensuring Kimbolton continues to thrive as a leading institution, providing opportunities for students to succeed both academically and personally.

District Council Nomination

Ian Gardener is a Chartered Minerals Surveyor by profession and is also a Cambridgeshire County Councillor, a Huntingdonshire District Councillor and a District Council nominee on the school’s Board of Governors. Ian provides support for the key Estates, Sustainability and Capital projects within the School.

Debra Hellett Parish Council Representative

Debra Hellett

Parish Council Representative

Debra was first connected with Kimbolton School as a parent. She was a member of the Kimbolton School Parent Association and then became the KSPA nominated Governor. She have since been nominated as a Parish Council Representative to the Board of Governors.

Helen Hopperton Old Kimboltonians' Association Nominated Governor

Helen Hopperton

Old Kimboltonians' Association Nominated Governor

Helen Hopperton has been a member of the Old Kimboltonians Association Committee since she left the School in 1985. Helen has two children, both of whom are also Old Kimboltonians.

Helen was employed as the School’s first Alumni Officer from 2010 to 2021; she previously worked as Business Performance and Compliance Manager for a national recruitment agency.

KSPA Nominated Governor

As Vice Chair of the Kimbolton School Parents’ Association (KSPA), Zayheda Khan plays an integral role in fostering community spirit and supporting school initiatives.

With a passion for collaboration and engagement, she works closely with parents and staff to create meaningful events and opportunities that enhance the school experience.

Zayheda brings dedication and organisational expertise to her role, helping to strengthen connections within the Kimbolton School community and ensuring the KSPA continues to thrive as a valuable support network.

Dr Pam Loughna Nominative Representative of the University of Nottingham

Dr Pam Loughna

Nominative Representative of the University of Nottingham

Dr Loughna is a Senior Lecturer/Consultant Obstetrician. She is the nominative representative of the University of Nottingham, having been a member of the academic and clinical staff at NUH NHS Trust. Pam’s responsibilities in the medical school included pastoral care of the pupils, as well as pupil selection and education.
