Assessment
During A Level Music, you will enhance your abilities as a performer, composer, and analyst of music.
Assessment includes:
- Component 1: Performing – a public recital comprising solo and/or ensemble pieces.
- Component 2: Composing – creation of original compositions, including one based on a set brief and one free composition.
- Component 3: Appraising – a written exam testing knowledge of musical elements, analysis, and critical evaluation of prescribed works across genres.
Practical applications are at the core of this course, ensuring students gain confidence in showcasing their musical talents.
