Assessment

During A Level Design and Technology, you will study topics ranging from materials and manufacturing techniques to innovation and ethical design. The course emphasises theoretical understanding alongside hands-on practical applications.

Assessment includes:

Non-Exam Assessment (NEA): A substantial design and make project where you’ll develop a unique product, from conception to final prototype.
Practical work is embedded throughout, ensuring students gain confidence in developing and testing design ideas.

Paper 1: A written examination covering technical principles and design concepts.
