Our recent Future Friday Breakfast was a truly inspiring event for both parents and pupils. We were delighted to welcome back an Old Kimboltonian James Sturdy and his colleague from Red Bull F1 Racing, who delivered a fascinating talk about the inner workings of a Formula 1 team.
They provided a captivating overview of the many different elements that contribute to success both on and off the track, highlighting the teamwork, precision, and innovation required at every level. Their presentation was not only informative but also highly engaging, offering valuable insight into their own career journeys—how they reached their positions within the competitive world of Formula 1—and sharing practical advice on what pupils can be doing now at school to pursue similar paths.
Following the talk, the speakers met with our F1 STEM Challenge teams to discuss their car designs. They offered expert feedback, drawing parallels between the students’ work and real-world practices in Formula 1 engineering and design.
This was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to showcase their creativity, gain first-hand advice from industry professionals, and be inspired to continue striving for excellence in their STEM pursuits. It was a morning full of learning, enthusiasm, and encouragement—one that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.
