Success at Regional Athletics Championships

Several Kimbolton pupils from the Senior School (Year 7 & 8) and Prep School (Year 6) represented the school at the East Area Prep Athletics event on Friday 5 June. With competitors from more than 50 schools across the region taking part, the standard of competition was exceptionally high in all events.

A particular highlight was Trevor H. in year 4 who finished 1st in the final of the 75m sprint!

Kitty K. also enjoyed a highly successful day on the track. After progressing through a competitive heat, she reached the final of the 200m and finished just one-tenth of a second behind the winner, earning a silver medal in a time of 28.2 seconds. Earlier in the day, Kitty had also delivered an impressive run in the 800m, finishing in second place and claiming another silver medal.

A special congratulations also goes to Greg H., who competed in the Under-14 Boys’ High Jump. Greg produced an outstanding performance, clearing 1.55m to secure a well-deserved silver medal.

As a result of their excellent performances, both pupils have qualified to represent the school and the East Region at the National Finals in Birmingham on Wednesday 1 July.

Congratulations to Greg and Kitty on their achievements, and well done to all of our pupils who competed and represented the school so positively throughout the event.
