We are delighted that Kimbolton School has been shortlisted as a finalist for Outstanding School Drama Department at the Music & Drama Education Awards 2027, recognising the strength and impact of its thriving drama provision.
Kimbolton joins seven others from across the UK shortlisted for the award, which celebrates excellence in drama education and efforts to enhance the performing arts experiences of pupils.
Held annually, the Music & Drama Education Awards honour exceptional achievements in music, drama and performing arts education – recognising schools, teachers, charities, arts organisations, initiatives and educational resources that enrich the lives of children and young people through the world of music, drama and dance.
Kimbolton School’s shortlisting highlights the work of its drama department in providing pupils with opportunities to develop their creativity, confidence and performance skills, both on and off the stage.
The latest recognition comes just months after Kimbolton School celebrated two prestigious award wins at the National School Theatre Awards, held in June 2026. The school received five nominations and took home two awards on the night: Best Ensemble and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical, which was presented to pupil Tom B. for his performance in Come From Away. The double success marked a significant achievement for the school’s performing arts community and provides further recognition of the quality and ambition of its drama and musical theatre department.

The Music & Drama Education Awards are judged by a panel of experts from across music and drama education, who assess nominations within a range of categories.
The winners will be announced at the Music & Drama Education Awards 2027 ceremony on 11 February 2027.
