As a welcome break during exam week, our Year 7 and 8 pupils enjoyed a fun-filled Creative Careers Afternoon, designed to inspire them to think about their future aspirations while developing valuable workplace skills.
Throughout the afternoon, pupils explored a wide range of careers and discussed the skills, qualities and attributes that employers look for in today’s workplace. They also learned about the importance of teamwork and the different roles people can play within a successful team.
One of the highlights of the session was the opportunity for pupils to design their own dream jobs, encouraging creativity and helping them consider how their interests and talents could shape future career paths.
Pupils then put their teamwork skills into practice with a tower-building challenge. Working collaboratively, teams were tasked with constructing the tallest structure possible using only newspaper. To succeed, their towers not only had to reach impressive heights but also be strong enough to support the weight of a chocolate bar!
The afternoon was filled with creativity, problem-solving and collaboration, providing pupils with an engaging opportunity to develop key employability skills while having plenty of fun along the way.
