Kimbolton School’s CCF Annual General Inspection day

Our Annual General Inspection (AGI) day is a highlight in the Kimbolton School calendar for our CCF pupils. The activity filled day captures the camaraderie, confidence and commitment at the heart of cadet life.

This year’s event brought blue skies and began the day with a traditional general salute and inspection of the cadets. A majestic grand parade followed, commencing from the West Lawn — a striking display of drill, discipline and pride that showcased the dedication of Kimbolton’s Combined Cadet Force in all its glory. Exemplary cadets were then recognised in a prestigious prize-giving ceremony, celebrating outstanding contributions across all sections over the past year.

Throughout the day, cadets took part in a wide range of training activities, from archery and laser tag to climbing, radio exercises, STEM challenges, and camouflage and concealment drills. These stands allowed our pupils to demonstrate the practical skills they have developed over the year, as well as the leadership and teamwork that underpin the CCF programme.

As the day drew to a close, guests gathered for the final Sunset Parade — a solemn and poignant ceremony marking the end of the AGI and the symbolic march-off by our Upper Sixth cadets. This moment represented the final step in their CCF journey and a proud farewell to their time at Kimbolton.
