Year 5 pupil Sarah Y. recently took part in the Richmond Music Festival, a highly regarded annual event held between February and March as part of the Richmond-upon-Thames Performing Arts Festival. The festival is a much-loved celebration of music, dance, and drama, attracting over 2,000 participants each year. It provides performers of all ages and abilities with an opportunity to showcase their talents, receive professional feedback, and build confidence.
Sarah entered two categories: the Junior Concerto and the Junior Recital. In the Concerto class, she performed the third movement from Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. Competing against four other entrants, Sarah delivered an outstanding performance and was awarded first place, earning both a medal and a trophy.
In the Junior Recital class, where performances were limited to a maximum of ten minutes, Sarah performed Praeludium and Allegro by Kreisler. Once again competing in a strong field of performers, Sarah impressed the judges and was awarded first place.
This is a fantastic achievement, and we congratulate Sarah on her remarkable success.
