Prep pupils go the distance in Autumn Fun Run

Kimbolton Prep School’s annual Autumn Fun Run brought the whole community together yesterday for an afternoon of energy, encouragement and House spirit.

The event saw pupils from Reception to Year 6 take to the course, running against the clock and tallying their laps at House checkpoints. From pit-stop water breaks to enthusiastic marshals, the atmosphere was full of determination and cheer – with the Prep squirrel mascot out on the course, cheering pupils on and helping them warm up.

Adding to the fun, a group of Sixth Form volunteers dressed as rabbits joined in the races, spurring on the younger children with plenty of smiles and encouragement – a true example of One school. One family.

The afternoon began with our youngest runners, followed by each year group taking on their timed challenge. Alongside individual awards for the fastest runners, special Endeavour awards recognised those who showed great effort and perseverance.

Reflecting on the event, Mr Stuart Richardson, Head of Prep School PE and Games, said:

“The Fun Run is an event the prep school has been looking forward to. It’s wonderful to see every pupil giving their best, showing great spirit and supporting one another. A huge thank you goes to all staff, parents, our squirrel mascot and our Sixth Formers for their support in making the event such a success.

The day ended with a presentation by the Cricket Pavilion, where pupils proudly collected their medals and certificates to the applause of friends, staff and family.
