On Monday, our Pre-School Squirrel Class took part in a very exciting and memorable activity — burying their very own time capsule in the Pre-School garden. This year is a particularly special one for our school, as it marks the very first year we have welcomed a Pre-School class to Kimbolton. To celebrate this important milestone, the children created a time capsule filled with items that represent their class and their time at school.
Inside the time capsule they placed a Squirrel Class teddy, handprints from all our Pre-School pupils, a class photograph of the first group of children and staff, and a selection of sterling currency alongside Bulgarian currency from one of our children, shared as Bulgaria prepared to adopt the euro.
There was lots of excitement as the children took turns helping to bury the time capsule using their spades. They were also joined by Head of Prep, Mrs Petrie to celebrate this special moment.

As they sealed and buried the capsule, the children were learning to share, show kindness, build friendships, and believe in themselves. This activity was a wonderful chance for them to work together and celebrate being part of the very first Pre-School class at our school. By the time it is opened, they may be grown-ups, parents, or doing things we can only begin to imagine.
The time capsule now rests safely in the Pre-School garden, waiting to be discovered in the years to come!
