On Sunday, 9 November, pupils from Kimbolton School’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF),representing the Royal Navy (RN), Army (A) sections and Royal Air Force (RAF) – took part in the annual Remembrance Parade through Kimbolton village, paying tribute to those who gave their lives in service to their country. The parade was led by Wing Commander Karen Dunn, a member of Kimbolton’s staff and Contingent Commander in the RAF Air Cadets and joined by the Royal British Legion and members of the local community.

Pupils assembled at the school gates at 10.00am before marching down the High Street towards the village memorial. Together with the Royal British Legion, they processed to the church, where the community gathered for the two minute silence at 11.00am, followed by the laying of wreaths in remembrance of the fallen. The parade was superbly accompanied by the CCF Band and Drums – the Last Post and Reveille were played by Year 11 pupil, Thomas M.

After the ceremony and church service, the parade returned to school. Outside the boys’ boarding house, the CCF saluted this year’s Reviewing Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Rob Agnew, before forming up at the saloon steps, where he addressed the pupils and thanked them for their contribution to this important act of remembrance.

Reflecting on the occasion, Wing Commander Karen Dunn said:

“Leading our young people in this act of remembrance is an honour. Our pupils show deep respect for those who served, and it is a privilege to march alongside them as they uphold this tradition with such sincerity.”

On Tuesday, 11 November, both the Prep and Senior Schools also observed a two-minute silence at 11.00am to mark Remembrance Day, reaffirming Kimbolton’s commitment to honouring the sacrifices of past generations and preserving their legacy within our community.
