Kimbolton football team wins district cup final in their first season

A group of Kimbolton School Year 7 (First Form) pupils have enjoyed an outstanding football season with local grassroots side Kimbolton Town Colts U12s.

The team was established last year by Kimbolton parent Stephen H., alongside fellow parent Iain P., to provide an opportunity for Prep School pupils to continue playing competitive grassroots football after moving on to the Senior School.

In their inaugural season, the team achieved remarkable success, securing promotion and finishing runners-up in the Wheetabix Kettering & District Youth Football League. The squad included seven Kimbolton School pupils, as well as one former Kimbolton Prep School pupil.

Adding to their league success, the team reached the final of the Kettering & District Jon Sellers League Plate Competition. The final was held on the league’s Finals Day at Raunds Town FC’s Kiln Park Ground on Saturday 9 May, where Kimbolton Town Colts produced an excellent performance to defeat Corby Hellenic Fisher 2–0 and lift the trophy.

The Kimbolton School pupils who represented the team in the final were:

  • Nicholas H.
  • William P.
  • Lucas H.
  • Cameron C.
  • Elliot H. (Captain)

Congratulations to all the players, coaches and families involved on a fantastic first season and a memorable achievement for the club.
