Last Saturday night, Kimbolton castle played host to one of the most anticipated parties of the year for most borders. The grand gathering, organised by the ever-creative Mrs. Holden, brought together over 50 distinguished guests for a night of mystique and fun.
As the sun set behind the towering stone walls of the castle, the gates opened to welcome a varying character cast, played by many teachers, ranging from plastic surgeons to cashiers, and a very special guest — Roberto, played by the Headmaster himself. Guests were greeted by the soft glow of candlelit dining tables and the excellent acting by the diverse characters, all played by very talented teachers.
Over the course of the evening, guests enjoyed a delectable meal prepared by the renowned school chefs, whose culinary expertise was on full display. Highlights of the menu included a delicious plate of fruit, a rich main course of roasted chicken with dauphinoise potatoes, and an Eaton mess dessert with a wide selection of drinks throughout the meal.
During the meals, guests would have to figure one thing : Who killed Charles?
The story goes that a young man by the name of Charles, working as a successful plastic surgeon, gets killed by an unknown perpetrator. A year later, guests were invited to a wedding between Jonathan and his beloved fiancée, Maggie. The guests all became characters of this story as friends of the groom, Jonathan. As guests met up again for the wedding, they interviewed and watched characters interact as they tried to decipher who committed the crime. The night was filled with excitement as guests figured out that it was none other than the beloved colleague of Charles (the Headmaster) that killed Charles in cold blood, out of the fear that Charles would expose Roberto’s botched plastic surgery and his very illegal unqualified practices!
As the event came to a close after a dramatic, tension filled ending scene, guests were left with nothing but photos to remember this unforgettable and extraordinary night!
