On Tuesday 30 June, twelve Kimbolton School pupils travelled to Warhammer World to compete in the Schools Tournament, enjoying a fantastic day of strategy, creativity and friendly competition.
The tournament saw pupils compete across two categories, Recruit and Veteran, with Kimbolton proudly represented in both. Throughout the day, each participant played three games, each lasting one hour and forty-five minutes, testing their tactical thinking, decision-making and resilience against schools from across the country.
While there were both victories and defeats, the day was filled with enthusiasm, determination and plenty of smiles. The tournament provided an excellent opportunity for pupils to develop many of the qualities celebrated in Kimbolton’s Learning DNA, including problem-solving, perseverance, critical thinking and adaptability. Success in Warhammer requires careful planning, the ability to respond to changing situations and learning from every game, skills that are equally valuable in the classroom and beyond.

The pupils’ creativity was also recognised, with Alex B. receiving a Silver Painting Award in the Recruit category and Samuel M.S. a Bronze Painting Award in the Veteran category. These awards celebrate the remarkable care, patience and artistic talent that our pupils dedicate to painting and presenting their miniature armies.
Congratulations to all twelve pupils for representing Kimbolton School so brilliantly. Their sportsmanship, creativity and determination made it a memorable and successful day, and we look forward to seeing them continue to develop their skills both on and off the tabletop.
