Philosophy, Religion & Ethics pupils in Year 10 (Fourth Form) recently visited the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir as part of their studies of Hinduism. The trip gave pupils the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Hindu beliefs, traditions, and worship through first-hand experience.
During the visit, pupils explored the stunning architecture and intricate design of the temple, learning about its cultural and religious significance. They also heard from members of the Mandir community, who spoke about their faith, daily practices, and the importance of the temple within Hindu life.
A particular highlight of the day was witnessing an Arti ceremony in action. Pupils were able to observe this important act of worship and reflect on the role that prayer, music, and devotion play within Hinduism.
The visit was an engaging and memorable experience, helping pupils bring their classroom learning to life while gaining a greater appreciation for Hindu culture and traditions.
