Monday 13 October 2025 marked a milestone moment at Kimbolton Prep School as we officially opened our brand-new Upper Prep playground that was generously, fully-funded by our KSPA! The play area is now open for all to enjoy, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our school community. The ceremony was extra special, with two key members of the KSPA – Mrs Talbert and Mrs Hunter, alongside Headmaster Mr Chuter, and Head of Prep, Claire Petrie – joining us to help cut the ribbon and celebrate this exciting new addition. In addition, we were all treated to a wonderful performance by violinist Teresa D. – who did a wonderful job of playing through a rather wet morning!
The first to experience the new equipment – the design of which was chosen by our school council, will be our excited Year4 pupils, who were the deserving winners of the Times Tables Rockstars competition. Their hard work in mastering their times tables has earned them the honour of being the first to test out the state-of-the-art playground equipment.
To make the moment even more memorable, four pupils – Darley H., Alistair W., Sena F., and Ethan W. – took to the stage to give a speech about how the new playground would change their playtimes for the better. Their words were filled with excitement and enthusiasm as they spoke about how the new space would offer new opportunities for fun, creativity, and socialising.
“We can’t wait to have even more fun and play in the new playground,”
said Darley H., as the group reflected on how the equipment would create lasting memories for years to come.
The Prep playground is set to be a place of joy, connection, and fun for all pupils, not just today, but for many years ahead. As Kimbolton Prep School continues to grow, we’re thrilled to have such an exciting new space to foster both play and learning.
Here’s to many happy playtimes ahead!
