RAF CCF
Kimbolton RAF CCF
The RAF Section at Kimbolton School is one of the largest RAF CCF units in the UK.
Pupils start at 4th Form and can stay all the way up to the Upper Sixth Form gaining four years of cadet experience in the Royal Air Force.
In the first two years, pupils experience the full progressive training syllabus which includes:
- Drill
- Airmanship
- Principles of flight
- Map reading
- Leadership
- STEM
- Fieldcraft
- Adventurous training
Unique trips and opportunities
We also have several exciting off-site activities such as our Summer Camps at various active RAF Stations across the UK.
Cadets also participate in leadership courses run by the Royal Air Force, and have the opportunity to take part in the Royal International Air Tattoo and more.
Leadership skills development
Senior pupils take leadership further with planning and delivering training to the younger years. In Sixth Form, pupils gain great skills in teaching, planning, organisation and delivering training supported by CCF staff.
Sixth Formers have access to additional exciting opportunities such as:
- Drill and Ceremonial camp with over 200 other cadets from across the UK
- Air Cadet Leadership course the gold level course at RAF Cranwell
- International Air Cadet Exchange – previous pupils have travelled to join up with the Swedish Air Force and the Belgium Air Force
- Air and Space camp at RAF Syerston with partners such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin and BAE
