Kimbolton teams shine at STEM Racing Regional Finals

Two Kimbolton School teams delivered outstanding performances at the recent STEM Racing Global Regional Finals, representing the school with professionalism, creativity and resilience after an intense day that began before dawn and finished late in the evening.

Competing against strong fields from across the region, both teams demonstrated exceptional technical skill, teamwork and ambition — reflecting the depth of Kimbolton’s commitment to hands-on STEM education.

Helix Racing (Upper Sixth)

Out of 33 teams, Helix Racing achieved:

  • Winner – Best Pit Display
  • Runners-up – Best Brand, marketing and sponsorship

AeroNova (Lower Sixth)

Competing in the Development Class, AeroNova placed third out of 17 teams and are now in contention for a wildcard entry to the National Finals.

Inspiring the next generation

Beyond the results, both teams were praised for their industry, perseverance and ambassadorial spirit, embodying Kimbolton’s values throughout the competition. Their success builds on years of work within the Physics Department and continues a strong tradition of STEM racing at the school.

To inspire younger pupils, the teams will be displaying their pit setups on campus, giving students the chance to see the engineering, branding and problem-solving behind competitive STEM racing — and encouraging the next generation to get involved.
