Kimbolton School in Cambridgeshire is proud to announce that its historic castle will feature as the backdrop to the Christmas Special of You Bet! On Tour, airing on Saturday 27 December at 18:30 on ITV1 and ITVX.
Filmed in August within the grounds of Kimbolton School, the festive one-off special places Kimbolton Castle – the heart of the school’s site – firmly in the national spotlight, showcasing one of Cambridgeshire’s most recognisable landmarks to a prime-time television audience.
Hosted by Stephen Mulhern, You Bet! On Tour – Christmas Special sees a sleigh-load of contestants take on a series of seasonal challenges in the hope of winning a £5,000 prize. The episode features a lively celebrity panel including Alison Hammond, Nick Mohammed and Rob Beckett, all competing to be crowned the Christmas You Bet! Champion.
Will Chuter, Headmaster of Kimbolton School, said: “Kimbolton Castle sits at the very heart of our school – both physically and symbolically – and we were delighted to see it brought to life for a national audience. It is a place where history, learning and community come together every day, and we are proud that viewers across the country will be able to experience a glimpse of this remarkable setting during such a joyful, festive programme.”
Kimbolton Castle is a former stately home with origins dating back to the 12th century and is best known as the final residence of Katherine of Aragon. Over the centuries it evolved from a medieval fortress into an elegant country house, shaped significantly by architects including Sir John Vanbrugh. Today, the Castle forms the centrepiece of Kimbolton School’s 3–18 site, providing a unique educational environment where historic heritage and modern learning sit side by side.
