Two of our talented young musicians, Lucas and Izzy, enjoyed an unforgettable musical experience this summer as participants in the prestigious National Youth Choir’s residential course.

Held over a week of intensive rehearsals, workshops, and masterclasses, the programme brought together some of the most promising young singers from across the UK. Lucas and Izzy immersed themselves in ensemble training, vocal development, and large-scale choral repertoire under the guidance of leading choral directors.

The week culminated in a remarkable final concert at Coventry Cathedral, where the combined choirs delivered a powerful and polished performance in one of the country’s most iconic acoustic spaces. Their concert was filmed as part of a special feature for CBBC Newsround, which aired earlier this year and highlighted the joy, discipline, and teamwork behind youth choral singing.

We are incredibly proud of Lucas and Izzy for representing Kimbolton School so brilliantly on a national stage. Their dedication to music, both within school and beyond it, is a testament to the vibrant creative life of our community.
