Bright and early at 7.30am, a group of parents, staff and pupils from both the Senior School and the Prep, took part in our Prep Dawn Chorus Walk. Led by Mrs Garland, participants explored the local surroundings while learning to identify a wide variety of birds. The group successfully spotted and heard an impressive total of over 27 different bird species.

Henry D from the Senior School Curiosity Club also joined, bringing his parabolic microphone to assist them to identify the birdsong. They also used several identifying apps to help. The data collected during the walk will be logged and uploaded to the BTO BirdTrack, contributing to valuable national conservation research. The morning was then rounded off with a well-earned Breakfast at the Prep School.
