Today (2 October) marked the very first Third Form Subject Taster Event at Kimbolton, and what a success it was!
Held at lunchtime, the event gave our Third Form pupils the chance to drop in and find out more about the GCSE subjects they will soon be choosing. It was a relaxed and engaging opportunity to ask questions, explore the different options available, and gain valuable insight from those who have already experienced the journey.
We were fortunate to have some fantastic Fifth Form subject ambassadors on hand, who did an excellent job of sharing their work and explaining what it is really like to study their chosen subjects. Their enthusiasm, honesty, and willingness to support younger pupils made the event especially meaningful.
Next week, on Thursday, 9 October, it will be the turn of our Fifth Formers to benefit from the same experience when they take part in the Fifth Form Subject Taster Day in the library. They will hear directly from Sixth Form pupils about what it is like to study different A level subjects – another important step in making confident and informed choices for the future.
Today’s event was not only about subject options; it was also about pupils learning from each other. Watching the conversations, the curiosity, and the peer-to-peer support reminded us how much we value these interactions at Kimbolton School. We look forward to seeing this initiative grow in the weeks ahead.
