Eight of our dual linguists in Year 10 (Fourth Form) swapped their classroom desks for chopping boards as they immersed themselves in Spanish culture through cuisine – ¡Vamos a cocinar!
Accompanied by their Spanish teacher, Sra. Farras, the pupils were also joined by our talented language assistant, Aingeru. Drawing on her wealth of culinary experience gained in Spain — where she has cooked alongside renowned figures such as Eva Longoria and Enrique Fleischmann — Aingeru guided the group as they created their own authentic Spanish dishes.

The pupil chefs prepared a selection of regional specialities, including pintxos con atún, a traditional Basque bread topped with tuna; tortilla de patata, Spain’s classic omelette; and pa amb tomàquet, a Catalan favourite of rustic bread topped with fresh tomato. Through each recipe, pupils not only developed their culinary skills but also deepened their understanding of Spain’s rich and varied regional traditions.

The kitchen was filled with teamwork, laughter and plenty of Spanish vocabulary, as pupils proudly declared, “¡Qué delicioso!”
¡Estaba para chuparse los dedos!
