After competing in House cross country with much success,  we progressed to the County School Cross Country competition in Ely, competing against athletes across Cambridgeshire schools. A flat but fun course with support from the crowd and music to keep us motivated, we all earned our spot to represent the County and Kimbolton at Anglian schools, after coming in the top 16.  The early start and cold weather was definitely worth it!

Anglian Schools brought a tough route with strong competition, with hills, lots of mud and puddles. I definitely ended up with some soggy shoes by the end! We faced some of the top athletes from schools across the East of England, from Lincolnshire to Suffolk, hoping to secure our places on the Cambridgeshire team for English Schools in Liverpool this year.

The mud and the hills didn’t stop us from achieving this and we came away with some very impressive results alongside our English Schools places. As only the top 8 from each county progress, we now get to represent both Cambridgeshire and Kimbolton at national level against the best in the country in March. We are all extremely looking forward to it!
