Kimbolton pupil Abi D. (Year 10) has finished the swimming season on a high, taking Gold in the 50m Backstroke at the Swim England Championships and earning the title of National Champion.
Abi was the only swimmer in her age group to go under 31 seconds, recording an exceptional time of 30.39. Her performance ranked as the third fastest overall across all age groups at the Championships and also set new Junior and Senior Bedfordshire County Records.
Kimbolton School’s Director of Sport, Mr Creag Lawrance, commented:
“Abi continues to go from strength to strength. To become a national champion at this stage in her swimming journey is an outstanding achievement and one that reflects her dedication, resilience and humility. We’re incredibly proud of all she has achieved so far and look forward to seeing what the next season brings.”
Following a well earned three week break, Abi is now looking forward to beginning the new season as she starts Year 11 this September. The school is excited to follow her continued success in the pool.
