Shona B. recently competed in the Youth Climbing Series (YCS) National Final in Leeds, impressively achieving 10th place in the UK. The Year 11 pupil from Kimbolton School demonstrated remarkable skill in both Lead and Boulder events, showcasing her dedication and talent in a highly competitive field.
The competition marked the end of the formal national climbing season, and Shona’s performance is a true reflection of her hard work. As the season draws to a close, Shona will now focus on her training, with several fun competitions lined up in the coming months before the new season begins early next year.
Shona said, “Competing at the national finals was a great experience which highlighted areas to work on for the coming season, but I would say it’s definitely a competition to look back on and be proud of. For the upcoming season I’m hoping to continue competing in national and regional comps and hopefully make national finals at the end of the year.”
We look forward to seeing Shona’s continued progress in the climbing world – onwards and upwards!
